2009 RFR Realty 5K Run/Walk a big success both on and off the course

Stamford, CT – More than 1,000 runners and walkers participated in the RFR 5K Run/Walk through downtown Stamford on Thursday, May 21, 2009, to support the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford.

The event raised more than 70,000 dollars for the programs of the club that will help further improve the lives of so many children in the area.

After weeks of rain and unseasonably cold temperatures, the weather finally improved and delivered perfect running conditions. This year's race even produced a new course record (details to be available later here on this site).

Winners from the different categories received special award gift bags. Additionally, after a raffle drawing, one lucky racer was selected to receive two round trip tickets on Jet Blue.
