The RFR 5K Run was a huge success yet again as it attracted more than 2,000 local runners who showed their support for the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford.

The event, through sponsorships and runner participation fees, raised $180,000 for the programs of the club which benefit local youth.

RFR Realty’s Portfolio Manager Margaret Carlson presented the check with the proceeds to Michael Cotela, the club’s executive director.

The race needs volunteers!  Please join the RFR 5k Run team in this great event supporting the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford.  Due to the new race course and size of this event we need many more volunteers this year.

NEW RACE ROUTE!

The 2013 RFR 5K Run/Walk benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford will be on May 16 at 7 p.m.

Race start is located on Tresser Boulevard in front of 300 Atlantic Street. The race turns right and continues north on Atlantic Street continuing straight on Bedford Street passing  the police station. Participants will then turn right onto 5^th Street, left onto Revonah Avenue and left onto Chester Street, continuing straight onto 6^th Street. Next is a left turn on Summer Street, left turn on 5^th Street and right turn south on Bedford Street. The race will continue down Bedford Street, continuing back across to Atlantic Street and turning left onto Tresser Boulevard finishing in front of 300 Atlantic Street.
